BRING ON THE CRAFTIE FOX!
Parents, have you heard of Storypod? On our son’s first birthday, his grandmother gifted him a Storypod device and not only was it a big then, WE STILL LOVE IT!
I want to start off this review by singing high praises to this great device and company. As new parents, we were weary of screen time and what that would look like in our household. Our son was getting older and he was becoming more interested in music, sounds, stories, and the like. Then came in Storypod. ↓ See the cuteness! ↓
The Storypod is a cute cylinder device that can withstand a fall (believe me, our toddler drops it ALL THE TIME). It’s speaker is loud and clear with volume control, pairing to the app is fairly simple, and includes hours upon hours of audio only fun. I couldn’t be happier for a screen time alternative.
How Does it Work?
This device does need WIFI and must be paired with an account via their app. Once paired, the “Craftie” (the cute little fox or any other little stuffy you buy for approximately $19.99) sits on top and connects by a light magnet. The magnet is not strong enough to turn the device over and the Craftie stay on. Don’t worry though, because here is my favorite part of the whole device. After you paired the Craftie by setting it on top of the device and you hear the jingle, the audio (music, story, trivia, etc.) starts to play. The Craftie does not need to stay on the device for it to continue playing the audio. This was a game changer for my 1 year old who loved to pull them off and play with them.
Washable!
The Crafties are a knitted material and my son liked to chew the ears of the animals so occasionally we had to throw them in the wash on a delicate cycle. Did I mention they are machine washable? They cleaned up great and we just let them air dry before using them again.

What is Offered?
Since my son was so young at the time, his grandmother purchased a few Crafties that played different styles of music. These music Crafties were a hit then and are a hit now. His favorite was Tali Tucan which plays classic songs like I’ve Been Working on the Railroad and You’re A Grand Old Flag. For older children, there are Crafties that share stories, read books, play trivia games and more.

Since we were gifted our Storypod in the winter of 2020, Storypod has released dozens more products that are super great as well. They sell “tokens” which work the same way as the Crafties but sit flat on the Storypod. You can purchase books which are read like an audiobook while having a physical book in your hand. There is a code on the book where you just tap the top of the Storypod to let the book connect. Now that my daughter gets to join in on the audio fun, we will be purchasing her some of the “My First” books next. There are so many great items to choose from!

To close, we as a family truly enjoy this innovative screen time alternative. It brings us laughter and a sense of togetherness as we sing through some of the songs and read through the books. The stories are full of adventure. The price for this small child friendly audio device is reasonable for the amount of time we spend using it. Over the course of the last 4 years it has held up to falls, spit up, food messes and more. Whether it is for Christmas, a birthday, or just a fun new family gift, your child will definitely enjoy the endless possibilities with Storypod.
